MEET OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

Jared serves as the Lead Pastor of True North. Jared’s primary responsibilities are preaching on Sundays’, developing leaders, and guiding our culture. He feels a deep calling to host the presence of the Lord in our church gatherings and empower people to experience the fullness of all God has for their lives. 

Jared was born and raised in California’s Central Valley. Jared has had the God-given dream to plant a church since he was sixteen years old. Jared went on to receive a degree in biblical studies and has served in various youth and associate pastor roles over the years, continuing to dive into his passion for theology.

Brook is the Executive Pastor and a native of Northern Michigan who grew up serving the church.  Brook's primary responsibilities are managing the church's day-to-day operations, coordinating outreaches, and designing content. She spent time overseas as a missionary after High school, where she felt the call to full-time ministry within the American church. Brook has education in worship, biblical studies, and leadership. She has a passion for all things creative.​

Jared and Brook have been happily married since 2016 and have served in various churches together. They love to take long road trips together and can frequently be found swimming in the lake during the summer months. They currently live with their two dogs, Remy and Wimber.

Zac currently serves as the Staff Teacher at True North, as well as the treasurer on the elder board. Zac has a passion for discipleship, and to see the church step into a deep relationship with the Lord, enriched with sound doctrine.

He is a committed lifelong learner and enjoys long discussions and healthy debates about theology. Zac loves the authenticity and the genuine pursuit of the Lord that True North carries.

Zac is a true jack of many trades, holding a wide variety of skills. He enjoys being outdoors, and hunting. He lives with his beautiful wife, Kristin, and their two young children.

Johnathen and Bianca Somner are the Worship Leaders at True North. They aim to create a space for our community to encounter God. They are also passionate about the Church as a whole experiencing God’s presence and

are working to write songs of praise and worship that will lead people to Jesus. The Somner’s hail from California, feeling called to church planting in Northern Michigan with Pastors Brook and Jared.

Johnathen has a background in professional music and recording, and with that brings incredible musicianship and production to the True North Worship Department.

Bianca studied Biblical and Theological studies, as well as music. At True North, she is always striving to bring songs to our community that are sound in heart and theology. Together, they feel called to help churches grow and have been serving in worship ministry since before they got married in 2012.

​

When they are not making music, you can find them spending time with their 4 children, or perhaps on a date night- something they love to do as often as possible. Johnathen and Bianca love the True North family and all the ways God has been showing up with physical healings as people begin to step out praying in bold faith. It serves as a reminder of who and what they are called to in the family of God.

Jesse and Tiffany currently serve as the directors of healing ministries. They have a long history of serving in the church and felt God calling them to do more in ministry. They joined the True North team in 2021 because they saw the Holy Spirit ministering and working in people's lives in a way they had never seen before.

​

They share a deep love to pray with and for people. And to truly see them healed and encouraged by the Lord. They have witnessed God working in so many lives and consider it a blessing to have the opportunity to partner with God to accomplish His will for them.

​

​Their goal is to provide an honest and safe place to help anyone to come before the Lord to establish a deeper connection and to let Him work in them and their situations. They believe that God will one day restore all things, but also that he desires that his kingdom break through now and be represented in the renewal of individuals.

​

Jesse and Tiffany have been married since 2012 and we have four handsome boys. They have lived in Northern Michigan almost their entire lives and love it here.
